Switchboard vs Pyth Oracle

This is my first topic post using Discourse so bear with me, but is Pyth a must for any asset currently looking to be onboarded as an asset?

What’s the technical (ELi5) differences re. Pyth vs. Switchboard that relate to making a decision on an asset?

Just looking for a little juice as to why it seems to matter so much that Pyth is providing the price feed.

For the time being it’s a technical implementation requirement. Potentially that requirement can be loosened to other oracles, but it’s not on the short term roadmap of the protocol engineering team.

Makes sense, I didn’t know about the risks in having multiple oracles if not done correctly. I was unaware that this was a major risk. Thanks for responding.
